P1315-00 Persistent Misfire - No sub type information
NOTE:
The misfire monitor runs continuously and is designed to detect levels of misfire that can cause either thermal damage to the catalyst or excessive tailpipe emissions. Determination of a misfire is made by analysis of changes in crankshaft speed, since a misfire will cause a fall in speed. Essentially the monitor determines the time taken for the crank shaft to move through 180 degrees (4 cylinder only) for the current firing event and compares that to the time taken for the previous firing event. If the time taken for the 'current' firing is greater than the previous firing, then a misfire is judged to have occurred.
Prioritized List of Possible Causes
Any of the following Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) may indicate the root cause of a misfire. These must be repaired before additional investigations are conducted: P0030-00, P0031-00, P0032-00, P00D1-00, P0131-00, P0132-00, P0133-00, P0134-00, P0192-00, P0193-00, P0444-00, P0458-00, P0459-00, P0496-00, P0497-00, P064D-08, P064D-17, P064D-16, P064D-86, P2096-00, P2096-02, P2097-00, P2097-02, P2231-00, P2237-00, P2237-02, P2237-64, P2243-00, P2251-00, P228C-77, P228D-77, P2626-00
The above Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) are relating to the following systems or components: Ignition system, fuel system, charge air system, evaporative emissions canister purge valve
Fuel level low
Spark plugs installation
Spark plugs condition
Reluctor ring to sensor runout and air gap out of tolerance
Crankshaft position sensor incorrectly installed
Poor fuel quality

Contaminated fuel or unauthorized additives
Driveline imbalance - Debris around rotating components
Driveline components excessive wear
Wheel and tire imbalance
Harness failure - Wiring integrity
Engine misfire caused by a Continuous Variable Valve Lift (CVVL) mechanical failure
Low cylinder compressions - Worn damaged engine components, worn piston rings, incorrect valve clearance, worn valves
Catalyst blocked or damaged
Engine mount damaged
Transmission mount damaged
Accessory drive belt components incorrectly installed
Fuel injector contamination or blocked
Engine build excessive wear
NOTE:
The powertrain control module is unlikely to be the root cause for this DTC and must not be replaced without a Technical Assistance (TA) being raised for further guidance.
WARNING:
When completing the cylinder compression tests, if the test result is 0%, or no pressure, DO NOT immediately replace the engine
NOTE:
The 0% reading on the compression test could be due to the inlet valves not opening, caused by a mechanical failure in the CVVL unit
When instructed to complete the cylinder compression test for this DTC, refer to the warning and note above this text
